Union Of National Defence Employees Collective Agreement

In 1994, PSAC regionalized its structure to complete the component structure and bring our members closer to their Union. Members of the Education and Library Science (EB), Operations Services (SV) and PSAC-UTE (Canada Revenue Agency) groups have also recently ratified their interim agreements. PSAC is working with the Treasury Board to finalize the text and schedules of the new agreements and expects the new contracts to be signed in the coming weeks. Current or former staff of the Department of National Defence, the Canadian Armed Forces and Non-Public Funds Personnel (NPFS) are entitled to file a complaint under the FCA/DND Sexual Misconduct Action Settlement. While some workers have objections to union membership for religious or political reasons, or are members or not, any worker in a PSAC collective agreement is entitled to representation and vote on collective agreements and strikes. The information on this website relates to public service employees for whom the Employers` Council is the Treasury. PSAC expects the Phoenix Treasury Board to pay general damages (i.e. the $2,500 package) within the 180-day transposition period mentioned above for the collective agreement. In addition, information on how current and former members who have suffered heavy losses from the Phoenix payroll system can claim additional compensation will be provided by the Treasury Board in the coming months. We will continue to urge the government to implement these regulations effectively. In accordance with the psac constitution, each component selects its national staff, selects a national staff and holds a convention every three years. These agreements take place six to twelve months before the PSAC Triennial Agreement. Component delegates select officials, define component policies and select delegates for the PSAC Triennial Convention.
